Landfills and Transfer Stations

NOTE: Operational hours of landfills and transfer stations may vary during severe winter storms and road closures. Thank you for your patience. 

Mono County operates 6 disposal facilities, 2 of which are active landfills. To find out what is accepted, contact information, and hours of operation for each facility, follow the links or explore the webmap below.

Please note, all landfills and transfer stations will now be closed on all County observed holidays.  Updated hours of operation are attached under each station below. 

Landfill hours and days of operation may change due to inclement weather and road conditions.  Affected landfills and transfer stations with unexpected closures will be updated under each station below.

Important Note to Customers:

Please understand that the hours of operation at the landfills and transfer stations represent the hours that the gate is open and closed. As such, it is important to plan your trip to these facilities to ensure that you are ready to exit the facility by the closing time. Customers who attempt to enter the facility without adequate time to dump their garbage or recyclables may be turned away. Please plan your trips accordingly!
