Wheeler Crest Design Review Committee
The Wheeler Crest Design Review Committee (WCDRC) reviews all single-family residential development projects within Wheeler Crest Design Review District (which encompasses all of Swall Meadows) for conformity with the Architectural Guidelines of the Wheeler Crest Area Plan. The WCDRC was established by the Board of Supervisors via Ordinance 91-07 in 1991 and is comprised of up to seven community members who either reside or own property within the District.
Per Mono County General Plan, Land Use Element, Action 24.A.4.b. in the Wheeler Crest Area Plan Policies “New construction shall be reviewed by the Wheeler Crest Design Review Committee.” All new construction projects in the Swall Meadows community are required to submit a Design Review Application for review by the WCDRC. For efficient processing, the Design Review Application should be submitted as part of a complete Mono County Building Permit Application packet.
Members: Per Ordinance 15-04, the WCDRC shall consist of five (5) to seven (7) members who reside in the District or own property in the District. Up to four members shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years; up to three (3) members shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years. The local District Supervisor may recommend appointments for Board consideration.
