RE: Deputies provide assistance to a stuck razor near Kavanaugh Ridge
On the evening of Monday, June 2nd, 2014, at approximately 5:10pm, Mono County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding an ATV side-by-side (razor) that was stuck in the snow near Kavanaugh Ridge and needed assistance.
A couple was riding their razor from Greek Creek to Virginia Lakes when it started to slide down a snow bank near Kavanaugh Ridge. The razor came to rest on the snow bank right on the edge of the ridge. The female passenger sustained a knee injury during the incident. The couple called the Mono County Sheriff’s Office for assistance. Deputies responded to the area to assist the couple. Using the Mono County Sheriff’s Office ranger, deputies were able to pull the razor off the ridge. The female stated she did not need immediate medical attention for her knee injury, and once safely down the ridge, would seek proper medical treatment.
Even though the Eastern Sierra did not experience a heavy winter, and has been experiencing summer-like conditions, please remember to be aware of your surroundings and changes in the terrain when off-road recreating throughout the many off-road trails of Mono County.
