White Mountain Fire Protection District

The White Mountain Fire Protection District (WMFPD) is a fire protection agency located in the eastern Sierra Nevada region of California, serving the residents of the White Mountain area, which is situated in Inyo County. The district provides essential emergency services, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), rescue operations, and wildfire prevention, to the local community and visitors.

The WMFPD is responsible for protecting both residential and wilderness areas, which includes responding to fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters. Given the dry climate and mountainous terrain, wildfire preparedness and response are particularly important in this region, and the district is well-equipped to handle such incidents, along with general fire suppression activities.

Staffed by both career and volunteer firefighters, the district ensures that personnel are available to respond to emergencies efficiently. In addition to emergency response, the White Mountain Fire Protection District is involved in fire prevention efforts, public education, and community outreach, helping residents understand fire risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them.

The White Mountain Fire Protection District also collaborates with neighboring fire departments, local agencies, and emergency services to provide a coordinated response to larger incidents and disasters. The district's focus on public safety, fire protection, and community resilience plays an essential role in maintaining the safety and well-being of the White Mountain area.
