Mono County Board of Supervisors Approves 2025 Capital Improvement Plan

Bridgeport, CA, May 12, 2025 – The Mono County Board of Supervisors has approved the County’s 2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), providing a roadmap for the financing, location, and timing of capital improvement projects over the coming years.

The CIP was developed by the Mono County Department of Public Works with the input of  County residents and outlines plans for major nonrecurring projects with a long service life, excluding routine maintenance and operational costs covered in the annual budget. These projects aim to enhance safety, mobility, and the quality of life for residents and visitors, with a positive impact on the local economy.

“The CIP is a dynamic document that will be reviewed and updated annually to address the evolving needs of our community,” said Paul Roten, Director of Public Works. “It serves as a vital tool for planning and budgeting, allowing us to strategically allocate resources and pursue funding opportunities, including grant programs, to bring these important projects to fruition. We would like to thank all those community members who provided valuable insight and feedback to help shape this year’s plan."

Key elements of the CIP include:

  • A 5-year outlook for development, maintenance, and improvement of infrastructure assets.
  • Alignment with the County’s General Plan and other planning documents.
  • Project categories spanning various Public Works divisions (Airports, Fleet and Equipment, Facilities, Parks and Recreation, etc.) and other County departments.
  • Identification of funding sources, including grant programs and the general fund.

“This Capital Improvement Plan is a crucial investment in Mono County's future,” said Lynda Salcido, Chair of the Mono County Board of Supervisors, District 5. “It will guide the strategic development of our infrastructure, ensuring the safety, mobility, and quality of life for our residents and visitors for years to come.”

The CIP is designed to be a dynamic document, reviewed and revised annually to address evolving needs and funding opportunities. Click here to learn more and access the plan.
