Mono County Board of Supervisors Announces 2026 Leadership Appointments: Supervisor Jennifer Kreitz Elected Chair; Board Recognizes Outgoing Leadership

Jennifer Kreitz

BRIDGEPORT, CA (January 14, 2026) — During its January 13 meeting, the Mono County Board of Supervisors took formal action to elect its leadership for the 2026 calendar year. The Board is pleased to announce the election of Supervisor Jennifer Kreitz (District 1) as Chair, Supervisor Paul McFarland (District 3) as Vice-Chair, and Supervisor Rhonda Duggan (District 2) as Chair Pro-Tem.

Chair Kreitz, who represents the Mammoth Lakes area, succeeds Supervisor Lynda Salcido (District 5), who led the Board throughout 2025. The transition highlights the Board’s commitment to a rotating leadership structure that ensures diverse representation for all regions of the Eastern Sierra.

"I am deeply honored to serve as Chair during this pivotal year for Mono County," said Chair Jennifer Kreitz. "As we move forward with our 2026 strategic goals—including the continued expansion of workforce housing and the strengthening of our community resilience—I am eager to work alongside my colleagues and our dedicated County staff. Our focus remains on compassionate governance and fiscal responsibility to ensure a sustainable future for all our residents."

The Board also took time to formally recognize and thank outgoing Chair Salcido for her exceptional service and dedication over the past year. Under Supervisor Salcido’s leadership in 2025, the County successfully adopted the FY 2025-26 budget and navigated several key infrastructure and public health initiatives.

“Lynda’s years of experience in local government and her steady hand as Chair have been invaluable to this Board,” added Chair Kreitz. “We are grateful for her continued service to District 5 and the entire County.”

The Mono County Board of Supervisors meets regularly on the first three Tuesdays of each month. Meetings are held at the Mono County Courthouse in Bridgeport or the Mono County Civic Center in Mammoth Lakes. Residents are encouraged to participate in person or via the county's digital meeting portal to stay informed on local policy and operations.
