Mono County Announces Chad Senior As New Public Works Director
MONO COUNTY, Calif. (June 1, 2026) – Mono County is pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Senior as the County’s new Public Works Director. Senior will officially assume the role in June, succeeding current Director Paul Roten upon his retirement.
Senior brings a valuable blend of technical expertise and practical leadership to the department. Since 2017, he has served Mono County in various key engineering roles, most recently as the Transportation and Environmental Engineer. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in overseeing transportation programs, solid waste operations, capital planning, and grant administration.
"Chad isn't just a long-time employee; he is someone who deeply understands the unique infrastructure and community needs of a rural mountain region like Mono County," said Jennifer Kreitz, Chair of the Mono County Board of Supervisors. "With a master’s degree in environmental engineering, 25 years of civil engineering experience, and a proven track record of successfully leading key county projects, he brings an unmatched level of technical expertise and practical leadership. I am incredibly confident in his ability to lead the department forward."
Senior will officially step into the Director role following Paul Roten’s retirement. Roten’s last scheduled day with the County is June 5, 2026. Mono County plans to formally recognize and thank Roten for his many years of dedicated service to the community as his retirement date approaches.
