Emergency Alert Test Scheduled for Monday, October 7th; Subscribe to READY Mono to Receive Emergency Alerts
MONO COUNTY, Calif. (September 26, 2024) – The Mono County Office of Emergency Management will be conducting a test of the emergency alert system on Monday, October 7th at 10:00 a.m. These alerts are essential in notifying Mono County residents and visitors during emergency events related to weather, natural disasters, and public health crises. Mono County utilizes a cloud-based, public alerting and residential safety tool that allows the Office of Emergency Management to send geo-targeted urgent alerts to subscribers. Residents and visitors are encouraged to visit READY Mono to subscribe to the emergency alert system in advance of the test on October 7th.
“Mono County is prone to weather events, wildfires, and other natural disasters that often require advanced preparation, or even evacuation,” said Chris Mokracek, Director of Mono County Office of Emergency Management. “I highly encourage every resident to visit the READY Mono portal to subscribe to our emergency alert system as these vital communications could protect your property, and ultimately save your life.”
