Mono Minutes: Board of Supervisors Action Report (9/12/25)

September 9, 2025 Meeting Highlights:

  • The Board approved the proposed Resolution adopting the Final Mono County Budget for FY 2025-26 as presented or amended.  The FY 2025-26 Final Budget totals $174,616,527 in total appropriations of which $65,816,649 is General Fund. The Final Budget makes use of $143,248,214 in Revenues and $31,368,313 in Fund Balance. The full budget can be viewed here.
  • The Board adopted a Proclamation designating the month of September 2025 as Hispanic Heritage Month. The first day of National Hispanic Heritage Month will be Monday, September 15 and it will run through Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
  • The Board was presented with a resolution by the Finance Department establishing the fiscal year 2025-26 tax rates on the secured roll. The Board adopted the Resolution enabling the County to collect both the statutory 1% property tax and voter-approved debt obligations. Preparation and printing of property tax statements occurs at the end of September.
  • The Board approved sending a letter of support for the California Deer Association’s (CDA) Wildfire and Forest Resilience Implementation Grant in the Inyo National Forest.
  • The Board received an update from the Department of Emergency Management ​​regarding fire, emergency operations, and weather events.
  • The Board approved a letter of support to Congressman Kevin Kiley expressing Mono County’s support for the bipartisan Fixing Emergency Management for Americans (FEMA) Act (H.R. 4669).

Ride for Free: Mono County Residents Can Access Yosemite National Park with YARTS Voucher Program
Mono County residents can now explore Yosemite for free through the new YARTS Summer Voucher Program. This pilot program provides free YARTS bus tickets and free entrance to Yosemite National Park. Full details and the application can be accessed here.
