Mono Minutes: Board of Supervisors Action Report (02/13/26)

February 10, 2026 Board Meeting Highlights

  • Continuation of the Declared Local Health Emergency for the Pack Fire of November 2025: The Board adopted and executed a Resolution to continue the Local Health Emergency due to the November 13, 2025 Pack Fire.
  • Resolution Authorizing a Program for the Removal of Debris and Hazardous Waste from Private Properties Damaged by the Pack Fire: The Board reviewed a resolution to authorize a program for the removal of debris and hazardous waste from private properties damaged by the Pack Fire; and to approve proposed Right of Entry; and to provide any desired direction to staff.
  • Ordinance Regarding the 2025 California Building Codes: The Board of Supervisors The Board finalized the adoption of the 2025 California Building Codes. While the State has introduced new criteria regarding snow loads and local authority (specifically AB 130 and ASCE 7-22), these updates will not change Mono County’s current local building rules or how codes are enforced. For residents and builders, it remains business as usual as both of these significant changes will not affect the County’s local building code nor change enforcement of the code from past years.
  • Public Hearing - Resolution for Reversion to Acreage of TM32-09, Alpine Vista Estates in Bridgeport: A public hearing was held for the Board to decide whether to approve, deny, or require conditions of approval as the Board desires for a petition for Reversion to Acreage of Alpine Vista Estates. After the hearing, the Board approved a petition for Reversion to Acreage of Alpine Vista Estates. 
  • Letter to Southern California Edison (SCE) Corporate Leadership: The Board approved a letter to Southern California Edison (SCE) Corporate Leadership regarding the 2025 SCE Holiday Power Outages as well as other concerns regarding SCE service. 

February 3, 2026 Meeting Highlights

  • Proclamation Designating the Month of February 2026 as Black History Month: The Board adopted a resolution proclamation designating the month of February 2026 as Black History Month.
  • Proclamation Designating the Month of February 2026 as National Children’s Dental Month: The Board adopted a proclamation designating February 2026 as National Children's Dental Month.
  • Military Appreciation Program and Annual Military Appreciation Week: The Board adopted a resolution ratifying administrative policy C-13 Mono County Military Appreciation Program and Annual Military Appreciation Week.
  • Pack Fire Clean-up: The Board of Supervisors considered funding debris removal for properties affected by the Pack Fire. The Board supported a hybrid approach in which property owners who wish to remove debris outside of a County-run program may move forward independently, while those who do not have the financial means to do so may provide information to the County so staff can assess total potential costs and return to the Board for consideration.
