Lee Vining License Process Updates

Dear Lee Vining Relicensing Participants -

Following up on the email sent a few moments ago, which was soliciting comments for the TLP, SCE would like to alert you to a planned Lee Vining Site Visit on September 28, and a virtual Joint Agency (JAM) meeting on November 16.

The purpose of the Joint Agency Meeting (JAM) is described in 18 CFR 16.8(b)(3)(i)(A) – its intended to help surface issues, review Preliminary Application Document (PAD), and discuss data needs and studies.

Details and logistics will be posted at www.sce.com/leeving (and emailed to you) as we lock in logistics. Normally, the site visit and the JAM are held concurrently; however, regulatory timing defines the windows when we can offer the meeting, and we are not able to schedule the JAM early enough to ensure good weather when we can access the site, which is why we’re holding the events separately in Sept and Nov. Because of drought conditions and changing conditions around the pandemic, we are asking folks to be flexible should we need to make adjustments.

For those who are also working on Bishop Creek relicensing, we will also be scheduling a meeting in Bishop the week of the site visit to start discuss applying study results (to the extent that studies are complete) to our understanding of project effects and desired conditions. Please hold September 30 for that discussion.

Thanks everyone!
