Does the County Counsel give legal advice to members of the general public?

No. The County Counsel, by statute, is the lawyer for the County, its officers and employees in their official capacity, and certain other public entities such as fire protection districts and public utility districts.

Can I serve the County with a lawsuit by serving the County Counsel?

No. Legal service of process on the County may be accomplished by serving the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, located at their Bridgeport Office: Annex I, 74 School St., Bridgeport,  CA 93517.

Mono County is suing me for money it says I owe. Who can I talk to about this?

Where can I get legal forms?
