Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates and Guidance
Good Afternoon,
As things are moving very quickly nationally and in California with the Coronavirus pandemic, we wanted to provide you with some updates. At this time, Mono and Inyo Counties have zero (0) cases of COVID-19.
Governor Newsom just released a new Executive Order further enhancing state and local government’s ability to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. This executive order does the following:
- Directs Californians to follow public health directives including canceling large gatherings more than 250 people
- Order removes waiting period for unemployment and disability insurance for Californians who lose work as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak
- Readies state to commandeer hotels & medical facilities to isolate & treat COVID-19 patients
- Allows local and state legislative bodies to hold meetings via conference calls while still meeting state transparency requirements
There was guidance released last night from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) on Gatherings which we wanted to share with you, in addition to some other resources that stakeholders have asked about. The most recent guidance documents and news releases can be found of the CDPH website (there is new content daily) and we are maintaining our Public Health website with the most recent local information available. Some key information to share includes the following:
People at risk for serious illness
Guidance for individuals with access and functional needs
Guidance for homeless assistance providers
Guidance for employers and workers
EPA's registered antimicrobial products for use against COVID-19
Reminders for using disinfectants at schools and child cares (español)
Thank you so much for your support as we work towards mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 in Mono County together!
Sincerely,
Sandra Pearce, Public Health Director
