Antelope Valley Towns-To-Trails Feasibility Analysis

Antelope Valley Towns-To-Trails Feasibility Analysis

The Eastern Sierra Council of Governments (ESCOG) is asking for input on two proposed alternatives for a multi-use trail using existing infrastructure to traverse Antelope Valley to access Walker Canyon. This segment is part of the larger Towns-to-Trails concept (https://townstotrails.org/) that is studying the feasibility of identifying a recreational route from Lone Pine to Alpine County that uses only existing and permitted soft-surface infrastructure. One goal of the project is to connect the communities of the Eastern Sierra to each other, and to support economic prosperity within the communities.

This is a conceptual planning phase.

Please see the attached the staff report, which explains the project further and includes maps of the currently proposed alignments.

Any feedback is appreciated on the appropriate route through the Walker area.  We request all feedback by February 14 in order to meet our project deadlines.

Please feel free to reach out to Elaine Kabala (760-878-8800, ekabala@escog.ca.gov) with any questions.
