Mono County

Detention

The Mono County Probation Department does not have a detention center or juvenile hall in the county.  Therefore, juveniles are detained at the El Dorado County Juvenile Center or Department of Juvenile Justice. 

 

El Dorado County Juvenile Treatment Center 

If your child is detained at the juvenile center, you must abide by the rules and regulations of the detention center.  Your child is allowed visitation, however their list of visitors must be approved by the director of the juvenile center and all visitors must be 18 years of age or older.  If you have any further questions please contact the Probation Department or the El Dorado County Juvenile Treatment Center.

Department of Juvenile Justice

The Division of Juvenile Justice is a placement that the Probation Department uses to house youthful offenders up to the age of 25 who have the most serious criminal backgrounds and most intense treatment needs. 

If your child was ordered into this placement, you must abide by the rules and regulations of the assigned facility.  Please contact the facility if you have questions about visitations or rules.
