Mt. Morrison Cemetery is located approximately five miles south of the junction of State Route 203 and US Highway 395, just south of the Mammoth Yosemite Airport on Mt. Morrison Road.
Gravesites may be purchased either at your time of need or you may reserve plot(s) to be used in the future. Plots are 5’x10’ and cost $456.00. To see what plots are available for purchase, see cemetery layout document below.
The fee for plot(s) does NOT include any opening or closing of the grave. It is the responsibility of the plot purchaser, person / mortuary handling funeral arrangements to retain services to have the gravesite opened and closed. A listing of businesses that perform this type of work may be obtained from Public Works upon request.
An agent or officer from Public Works must mark plot perimeter prior to any work to be performed. Public Works also requests that whoever shall perform the opening and closing of a gravesite contact Public Works at (760) 932-5440, to notify as to when work will be performed. Once the burial is complete, Public works will again mark the site for the placement of the marker.
All fees and associated paperwork must be completed and received in the Public Works offices in Bridgeport (Post Office Box 457, 74 North School Street, Bridgeport, CA, 93517) prior to any burial is to occur.
