Mono Minutes: Board of Supervisors Action Report (04/17/26)

April 14, 2026 Board Meeting Highlights

  • Arts, Culture & Creativity Month: The Board of Supervisors adopted a Proclamation designating the month of April 2026 as Arts, Culture & Creativity Month.
  • Southern California Edison Community Resource Center and Wildfire/PSPS Updates: The Board of Supervisors received a wildfire/PSPS update from Southern California Edison and approved  a License Agreement with SCE for the use of County facilities as Community Resource Centers during Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events and other emergency outages. 
  • California Fire Safe Council 2025 County Coordinator Program Extension Grant: The Board of Supervisors provided authorization to apply for the grant in which the County may request up to $151,500 in funding to support wildfire resilience planning and implementation efforts. 
  • Public Hearing - Short-Term Rental Activity Permit: Following a Public Hearing and a thorough evaluation, the Board of Supervisors approved the Short-Term Rental Activity Permit 26-001 of a dwelling located in June Lake. 
  • Public Hearing - D&S Waste Transfer Station Specific Plan: Following a Public Hearing, the Board of Supervisors re-certified the 2022 Initial Study and Negative Declaration (SCH No. 2022120540),  initially certified by the Mono County Board of Supervisors on December 13, 2022, which found no potentially significant environmental impacts relating to the operation of the D&S Waste Transfer Station located at 7937 State Route 167 near Mono City, including site standards for screening, lighting, and operations. The Board also approved an ordinance adopting the D&S Waste Transfer Station Specific Plan for APN 013-210-028-000, limiting permitted uses to those approved under Use Permit 21-007 and as further defined in the Specific Plan document.

  4. Interpretive access & Recreation

Mono County Children's Memorial Flag Raising Ceremony
Please join the Mono County Child Abuse Prevention Council and local partners for a statewide, commemorative ceremony to honor the young lives lost to violence. The morning will feature remarks from community leaders and advocates, followed by a solemn flag-raising ceremony.
