Good afternoon,
The Yosemite road crews are almost to May Lake Pit, which is over 26 miles from the Crane Flat Gate. The crews have continued to deal with limited snow removal equipment due to breakdowns and ongoing repairs.
The avalanche team is still working on reducing the avalanche danger at Olmsted. The road and avalanche crews have been experiencing a variety of weather from dense fog to heavy thunderstorms over the last week. This has hampered the avalanche reduction work at Olmsted.
Caltrans was approximately 1 ½ miles from the east gate on Monday. They have areas that will require guard wall repair and removal of large rocks. Caltrans also mentioned that they have experienced periods of limited equipment due to breakdowns as well.
Any questions? Please reach out.
Thanks,
Mark Krebs
