This is George Kostyrko, your liaison for Mono County with the U.S. Small Business Administration Office (SBA) of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, informing you that Mono County residents, businesses and nonprofits eligible for individual assistance will now have a Disaster Recovery Center to visit for in person help beginning Monday afternoon, May 15, 2023, after 1 p.m. Second email is our Email in Spanish for your Spanish Constituents
Beginning Tuesday May 16, 2023, it will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. every day except Sunday, until community needs are met. It is very important for applicants to initiate an SBA application to ensure recovery options by the June 2, 2023, deadline.

I was hoping your organization can share this information on your website as well as via any email or social media channels so any homeowners, renters or business owners in Mono County who suffered physical damage or economic impact as a result of severe winter storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides that began Feb. 21, 2023.
Because Mono is now a primary county, resources are available from the Small Business Administration.

On May 2, 2023, Mono County was declared a Primary County.
Businesses of all sizes and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets. SBA can also lend additional funds to businesses and homeowners to help with the cost of improvements to protect, prevent or minimize the same type of disaster damage from occurring in the future.
Disaster loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property, which includes their disaster damaged personal vehicles.
It is very important for applicants to initiate an SBA application to ensure recovery options by the June 2, 2023, deadline. The Economic Injury Deadline is Jan. 3, 2024.
There is no cost or obligation, and eligibility is based on a case-by-case review for each applicant.
