Mono County Board of Supervisors Adopt Urgency Ordinance Prohibiting Open Fires on Private Property and County-Operated Campgrounds

August 23, 2021 - On August 17th, the Mono County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the adoption of an Urgency Ordinance prohibiting open fires on private property and county-operated campgrounds within the unincorporated areas of Mono County.

The Ordinance was adopted in an effort to take action to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens and natural environment from further harm and risk due to extreme wildfire and fire hazard conditions.
