Phase 2 Debris Removal Update

CalOES completed their cursory field assessment on Thursday, and are currently working on a timeline for launching into Phase 2.  We will continue to provide updates as we receive them, and encourage you to continue checking the Mountain View Fire Incident portal [1] for updates.

Nevada Resiliency Project Community Meeting

Following the devastation brought by the Mountain View Fire, the Nevada Resilience Project is partnering with Mono County to offer a community meeting for all residents.  The meeting will be held Saturday, March 6th from 1pm - 2pm at the Coleville High School gym.  Details can be accessed here [2].

United Policyholders Tax and Insurance Workshops

United Policyholders will be hosting a FREE tax help webinar titled “Taxing Matters for Wildfire-Impacted Households” in March.  Three CPAs with extensive experience advising disaster survivors will share tips on:

• Tax strategies for the underinsured;
• Casualty loss tax filing options; and,
• Are insurance proceeds taxable?
